The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have added the Houston Baptist Huskies to their 2020 football schedule, both schools announced on Wednesday.

Louisiana Tech will host Houston Baptist at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, La., on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020. The game will mark the first-ever matchup between the Bulldogs, a member of Conference USA in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), and the Huskies, members of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

Louisiana Tech was previously scheduled to host the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Sept. 19, 2020, but the game was canceled when the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) postponed their football season to Spring 2021 due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Similarly, Houston Baptist was previously scheduled to travel to take on the Texas Southern Tigers, also a member of the SWAC, on Sept. 19.

Louisiana Tech is currently scheduled to open the 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 on the road against the UNLV Rebels at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other non-conference opponents for the Bulldogs include Baylor on Sept. 26 and Vanderbilt on Nov. 21, both on the road.

Houston Baptist is also scheduled to open their season on the Sept. 5 at the North Texas Mean Green. The Huskies are also scheduled to host Texas Wesleyan on Sept. 12.
