Liberty announces 2020, 2021 football schedules

The Liberty Flames have completed their 2020 and 2021 football schedules, the school announced on Thursday.

The schedule additions announced today include home-and-home series with Middle Tennessee and ULM, a home game vs. FIU, and FCS home games vs. North Carolina A&T, Western Carolina, and Campbell.

Liberty previously announced seven opponents for their football schedule in 2020: at Virginia Tech (Sept. 5), at Bowling Green (Oct. 3), at Syracuse (Oct. 17), vs. Southern Miss (Oct. 24), at Virginia (Nov. 7), at NC State (Nov. 21), and vs. UMass (Nov. 28).

The five opponents that complete Liberty’s 2020 football schedule are as follows: vs. North Carolina A&T (Sept. 12), at Middle Tennessee (Sept. 19), vs. FIU (Sept. 26), vs. ULM (Oct. 10), and vs. Western Carolina (Nov. 14).

The Flames’ football schedule in 2021 has nine opponents that were previously announced: vs. Campbell (Sept. 4), at Troy (Sept. 11), vs. Old Dominion (Sept. 18), at Syracuse (Sept. 25), at UAB (Oct. 2), at North Texas (Oct. 23), vs. UMass (Nov. 6), at Ole Miss (Nov. 13), vs. Louisiana (Nov. 20), and vs. Army (Nov. 27).

Additions to the 2021 schedule include games vs. Middle Tennessee (Oct. 9) and at ULM (Oct. 16).

Liberty is moving up to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for the 2018 season and will be a full FBS member with bowl eligibility beginning in 2019.

I truly respect Liberty and their forward movement. I hope they aren’t over-loading themselves too soon… But; they did have a winning season and beat Baylor. a power five school…. Why did they not receive a bowl invitation. I guess it had something to do with transition year? Is that why/ Just asking! I’m ignorant! HELP!

Liberty is still FCS this year. 2018 is their first year in the FBS and they won’t be eligible for a bowl until 2019.

NMSU didn’t want any part of this schedule? The Aggies are going to struggle to fill 2020 unless they have the conference invite they are looking for lined up.
