Howard releases 2019 football schedule

The Howard Bison have released their 2019 football schedule (via FCS STATS), which features five home and seven road contests.

Howard opens the season Aug. 31 at Big Ten foe Maryland, with a trip to Youngstown State (Sept. 7) on deck. The Bison will take on former MEAC rival Hampton on Sept. 14 in the Chicago Football Classic at Soldier Field.

The Bison kick off MEAC play at Delaware State on Sept. 21, which is followed by Bethune-Cookman visiting Washington on Sept. 28 in another MEAC contest.

October begins with an Oct. 5 non-league game at Harvard. Norfolk State continues MEAC play with a visit on Oct. 12, followed by an open date (Oct. 19) and a league road contest at North Carolina A&T (Oct. 26).

November will consist entirely of MEAC tilts. North Carolina Central visits Nov. 2 to begin the month, followed by a trip to Orangeburg, South Carolina, to battle South Carolina State on Nov. 9.

The final road outing of the season takes place Nov. 16 in Tallahassee, Florida, against Florida A&M. Morgan State visits Nov. 23 to close the campaign.

Howard finished the 2018 season with a 4-6 record (4-3 MEAC). First-year head coach Ron Prince will guide the 2019 Bison.
