Holy Cross announces fall 2021 football schedule

The Holy Cross Crusaders have announced their fall 2021 football schedule, which includes five home games and 11 contests overall.

Holy Cross opens the 2021 season with five consecutive non-conference contests, beginning on the road against UConn on Saturday, Sept. 4. The following week on Sept. 11, Holy Cross opens their home slate at Fitton Field in Worcester, Mass., against Merrimack, which was previously unannounced.

The Crusaders then travel for back-to-back contests at Yale on Sept. 18 and at Monmouth on Sept. 25 before closing out non-conference action at home against Harvard for Homecoming on Oct. 2.

After an open date, Holy Cross opens Patriot League action on Oct. 16 at home against Georgetown. The only other league opponent visiting Fitton Field this fall is Lafayette on Nov. 6.

Holy Cross’ home game vs. Colgate on Oct. 23 will be played at Polar Park, the home of the Worcester Red Sox, a AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

The Crusaders will travel to face Patriot League foes Lehigh on Oct. 30, Fordham on Nov. 13, and Bucknell on Nov. 20.

Holy Cross finished the spring 2021 season 3-1 overall. The Crusaders defeated Bucknell 33-10 in the Patriot League Championship Game and then fell on the road at South Dakota State, 31-3, in the first round of the FCS Playoffs.
