Holy Cross announces 2020 football schedule

By Kevin Kelley -

The Holy Cross Crusaders have announced their 2020 football schedule, which features a game at Boston College.

Holy Cross will open the 2020 season with a non-conference contest on the road against the Merrimack Warriors on Sept. 5.

The following week on Sept. 12, Holy Cross opens Patriot League action at home at Fitton Field in Worcester, Mass., against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. That’s followed by a visit from the Yale Bulldogs for Homecoming on Sept. 19.

After their only open date of the season on Sept. 26, Holy Cross travels to take on the Harvard Crimson on Oct. 3 before returning home to host the Brown Bears on Oct. 10.

Holy Cross then plays a stretch of four-consecutive road contests — at Georgetown (Oct. 17), at Colgate (Oct. 24), at Boston College (Oct. 31), and at Lafayette (Nov. 7).

The Crusaders wrap up their 2020 regular-season schedule with back-to-back games at home against the Fordham Rams on Nov. 14 and the Bucknell Bison on Nov. 21.

“We are looking forward to facing a very challenging schedule this fall,” said Holy Cross head football coach Bob Chesney. “The non-conference portion of our schedule will be very competitive, as we play several top teams from around New England. We expect those games to help prepare us for the difficult battles we will face in the Patriot League.”
