Georgia State to host Army in 2019, adds future series with East Carolina

By Kevin Kelley -

The Georgia State Panthers will host the Army Black Knights in 2019 and will play the East Carolina Pirates in a home-and-home series, the school announced on Friday.

Georgia State will host Army at Georgia State Stadium in Atlanta on Oct. 19, 2019. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams on the football field.

Georgia State and Army are also scheduled to meet in a home-and-home series, beginning with a game in Atlanta on Sept. 4, 2021 and ending at Michie Stadium in West Point, New York on Oct. 1, 2022. That series was announced back in 2015.

Georgia State has also added a home-and-home series with the East Carolina Pirates. The two schools will meet for the first time on the gridiron in Atlanta on Sept. 2, 2023. The series concludes five seasons later at Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina on Sept. 16, 2028.

East Carolina also confirmed today a few matchups that we previously reported. ECU and Marshall will play a home-and-home series, facing off in Greenville on Sept. 9, 2023 and in Huntington on Sept. 13, 2025.

ECU has also moved a 2020 home game against West Virginia to Sept. 19, 2026.

With Army having 13 games in 2021, Is it possible 2019 in Atlanta replaces 2021?

No, you are right that Army has 13 games on FBSchedules list for 2021 right now, and it’s not a go to Hawai’i year….
