The Georgia Southern Eagles will play at the Wisconsin Badgers in 2023, the school announced on Thursday.
Georgia Southern will travel to take on Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on Sept. 16, 2023. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
In Georgia Southern’s first and only meeting against a Big Ten program, the Eagles fell at Indiana 52-17 in 2017. Georgia Southern is also scheduled to play at Minnesota on Sept. 14, 2019 and at Nebraska on Sept. 10, 2022.
Wisconsin is the third announced non-conference opponent for Georgia Southern for the 2023 season. The Eagles are also scheduled to host the UAB Blazers on Sept. 9 and play at the Ball State Cardinals on Sept. 23.
Georgia Southern’s fourth and final non-conference game in 2023 will be at home against a team from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
The Badgers have now tentatively completed their non-conference schedule for 2023. Wisconsin is also slated to play host to the Buffalo Bulls on Sept. 2 and travel to face the Washington State Cougars on Sept. 9.
Georgia Southern is set to open the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at home against the South Carolina State Bulldogs. Wisconsin opens one day prior on Friday, Aug. 31 against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Camp Randall Stadium.
