The Georgia Southern Eagles and the Eastern Michigan Eagles have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2027 and 2029, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game contract with Eastern Michigan University was obtained from the Georgia Southern University athletics department.
In the first game of the series, Georgia Southern will host Eastern Michigan at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Ga., on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2027. The following season on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2029, the Eagles will travel to take on the Eagles at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, Mich., which will conclude the two-game series.
Georgia Southern and Eastern Michigan’s only meeting on the gridiron came on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. The Eagles of Georgia Southern defeated the Eagles of Eastern Michigan in that contest, 23-21.
Eastern Michigan is the second non-conference opponent scheduled for Georgia Southern in 2027Â and the first for the 2029 season. The Eagles are also scheduled to play at the Houston Cougars on Sept. 18, 2027.
Eastern Michigan is also slated to host the San Diego Aztecs on Sept. 3, 2027. Georgia Southern is their first scheduled non-conference opponent in 2029.

Very intriguing series. The Camelia Bowl between these two teams was a great game. Eastern has come a long way under Coach Creighton. I wonder if they are trying to do a little investigative recruiting in south GA while they’re here. Western Michigan just completed a H&H with GA Southern, as well. Just thought that was interesting.
