The Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs have added the Lincoln (PA) Lions to their 2021 football schedule, according to an announcement by Lincoln University.

Gardner-Webb will host Lincoln (PA) at Ernest W. Spangler Stadium in Boiling Springs, N.C., on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. The game will mark the first-ever football meeting between the two schools.

Gardner-Webb is a member of the Big South Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Runnin’ Bulldogs are scheduled to kick off their postponed fall season on Saturday, Feb. 27 at home against the Elon Phoenix.

Lincoln University competes in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in Division II. The Lions’ 2020 season was canceled and will not be played this spring.

Gardner-Webb now has four scheduled non-conference opponents for the fall 2021 season. The Runnin’ Bulldogs are scheduled to open the season with consecutive road contests at the Georgia Southern Eagles on Sept. 4 and the Charlotte 49ers on Sept. 11. GWU is also slated to host the Western Carolina Catamounts on Sept. 25.
