The Florida Atlantic Owls have added the Southeastern Louisiana Golden Lions to their 2022 football schedule, it was announced on Tuesday.
Florida Atlantic will host Southeastern Louisiana at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Southeastern Louisiana is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Golden Lions recently completed their spring 2021 season 4-3 overall and 4-2 in Southland action.
With the addition of Southeastern Louisiana, Florida Atlantic has completed their non-conference schedule in 2022. The Owls are also scheduled to play road games at Ohio on Sept. 3 and at Purdue on Sept. 24 and will host UCF on Sept. 17.
Southeastern Louisiana is scheduled to open the 2022 season on the road against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Sept. 3. The Golden Lions are also slated to host Central Connecticut on Sept. 17. A previously announced home game against North Alabama was also slated for 2022, but the contest was not mentioned in today’s release.
