Eastern Washington adds Central Washington to 2021 football schedule

The Eastern Washington Eagles have added the Central Washington Wildcats to their 2021 football schedule, the school has announced.

Eastern Washington will host Central Washington at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash., on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. The game will mark the 70th overall meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

The game against Central Washington completes Eastern Washington’s football schedule for the fall 2021 season. The Eagles will also travel to play UNLV on Thursday, Sept. 2 and Western Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 18 in non-conference action.

Eastern Washington will begin Big Sky Conference action in 2021 at home on Saturday, Sept. 25 against the Portland State Vikings. The Eagles are also slated to host Southern Utah (Oct. 16), Sacramento State (Nov. 6), and Idaho State (Nov. 20).

Big Sky games on the road for Eastern Washington include Montana State (Oct. 9), Cal Poly (Oct. 23), Idaho (Oct. 30), and Northern Arizona (Nov. 13).

Eastern Washington’s fall 2020 season was postponed to spring due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The Eagles are scheduled to kick off their spring season on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 on the road against Portland State. Other road contests include UC Davis (March 13) and Montana State (April 3).

Home opponents for EWU this spring include Montana (March 6), Idaho (March 27), and Cal Poly (April 10).

The FCS Playoffs this spring are scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 24 and conclude with the championship game on or around May 15.
