The East Carolina Pirates will host the Norfolk State Spartans in 2020 and the Campbell Camels in 2022, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Copies of the game contracts were obtained from East Carolina University via a state public records request.
East Carolina will host Norfolk State at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina on Sept. 19, 2020. The Pirates will pay the Spartans a $300,000 guarantee for the game, per the contract.
The 2020 contest between ECU and Norfolk State will mark their-first ever meeting on the gridiron.
Norfolk State is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Last season, the Spartans finished 4-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Campbell will travel to face East Carolina in Greenville on Sept. 10, 2022. The Camels will receive a $350,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract.
ECU and Campbell first met on the gridiron in 1933 and have squared off a total of four times. The Camels currently lead the series 3-1, but the teams haven’t played since 1939.
Campbell is a member of the Big South Conference in the FCS. The Camels finished the 2017 season 6-5 overall and 5-3 in conference action.
East Carolina-BYU series date change
East Carolina and BYU are set to play a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2024. The date of the 2022 game at BYU has been pushed back five weeks from Oct. 15, 2022 to Nov. 19, 2022, per a copy of an amendment.
The 2024 game in Greenville, set for Oct. 19, remains unchanged.
East Carolina-South Carolina dates set
The Pirates and Gamecocks have set the dates of two future games from a previous agreement, per an addendum. ECU will travel to face South Carolina in Columbia on Sept. 12, 2020 and will host the Gamecocks in Greenville on Sept. 11, 2021.
If ECU does not win both of these games by 38+………….ugghh
No mad by these FCS games since the schools are so close.
