The East Carolina Pirates and the Marshall Thundering Herd have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2020 and 2021.
In the first game of the series, East Carolina will host Marshall at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, NC on Sept. 5, 2020. Marshall will host the second and final game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, WV on Sept. 11, 2021.
East Carolina and Marshall have met 15 times on the gridiron and the Pirates hold a 10-5 lead. The last nine meeting in the series came between 2005 and 2013 while both schools were members of Conference USA.
East Carolina now has three non-conference games scheduled in 2020. The Pirates also host West Virginia and travel to Virginia Tech. The trip to Marshall is the first announced game for 2021.
As for the Thundering Herd, ECU is their first known game for 2020 and second in 2021 to go along with a trip to Navy.
