The Delaware State Hornets have released their 2019 football schedule, which includes seven home games and 12 contests overall.

Delaware State’s 2019 schedule features a couple of new matchups, plus one date change. New matchups include home contests against Lincoln (PA) on Sept. 14 and Merrimack on Oct. 19.

To accommodate the Merrimack game, Delaware State’s home game against Howard has been moved up four weeks from Oct. 19 to Sept. 21 and will be their Homecoming contest.

Delaware State will open the 2019 season with a non-conference game on the road against in-state rival Delaware on Thursday, Aug. 29. The Hornets’ three remaining non-conference games are all in Dover — Lincoln (Sept. 14), Merrimack (Oct. 19), and Saint Francis U. (Nov. 23).

The Howard matchup in Dover on Sept. 21 will be the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchup for Delaware State in 2019. DSU will also host South Carolina State (Oct. 5), Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 9), and Norfolk State (Nov. 16).

Road MEAC contests for Delaware State in 2019 include North Carolina A&T (Sept. 28), Morgan State (Oct. 12), North Carolina Central (Oct. 26), and Florida A&M (Nov. 2).

Delaware State finished the 2018 season 3-8 overall and 2-5 in MEAC play. The Hornets haven’t won a conference championship since 2007.
