Colorado State at Air Force football game canceled due to COVID-19

The Colorado State Rams at Air Force Falcons football game has been canceled due to COVID-19, the Mountain West announced on Wednesday.

The two schools were scheduled to meet at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Thursday, Nov. 26. The game will not be played due to “…an upward trend of COVID-19 cases within the Colorado State football program and in consultation with Larimer County public health and resulting contact tracing.”

The Colorado State-Air Force football game will not be rescheduled and will be declared a no-contest.

“Our greatest responsibility is the health of our students – including student athletes – faculty, staff and the broader Fort Collins, Larimer County and Colorado community,” said Colorado State President Joyce McConnell. “While we understand players, staff and fans may be disappointed, to proceed with a game under these conditions is not responsible, and we must all do what we can to protect each other.”

Colorado State is 1-2 so far this season. The Rams are scheduled to return to the gridiron on Saturday, Dec. 5 on the road against the San Diego State Aztecs. The game is set to kickoff at 7:00pm ET with television coverage by CBS Sports Network.

Air Force (2-2, 1-2 Mountain West) is scheduled to play next at the Utah State Aggies on Thursday, Dec. 3. The game will be televised by CBS Sports Network at 9:30pm ET.
