College football rankings: Week 8, 2020

College football rankings for week 8 of the 2020 season have been released. Clemson remains the top-ranked team, while Notre Dame moved up to 3rd.

Clemson (5-0) remains atop both the AP and Coaches polls following their 73-7 demolishing of Georgia Tech. The Tigers received 54 of the 62 first-place votes in the AP Poll and 52 of the 62 first-place votes in the Coaches Poll.

Alabama (4-0), Notre Dame (4-0), Georgia (3-1), Ohio State (0-0), and Oklahoma State (3-0) round out the Top 6 in both polls.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, which slipped by Louisville 12-7 on Saturday, moved up to No. 3 after the previously third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs lost at No. 2 Alabama, 41-24.

Auburn, Tennessee, and Louisiana each dropped out of both polls following losses in Week 7.
