College football rankings: Week 7, 2019

By Kevin Kelley -

College football rankings for week 7 of the 2019 season have been released. Alabama and Clemson remain the top two teams in the polls.

Five teams received first-place votes in the AP Poll this week. Alabama leads the way with 32, followed by Clemson (15), Ohio State (3), Georgia (3), and LSU (2).

The Ohio State Buckeyes, who defeated then No. 25 Michigan State 34-10, moved into a tie with the Georgia Bulldogs at No. 3 in the AP Poll. Ohio State remained at No. 4 in the Coaches Poll.

Florida, Virginia, and Memphis are among several teams that moved up in both polls this week. The Florida Gators defeated then No. 7 Auburn at home, which propelled them up three spots in the AP Poll to No. 7 and up one spot in the Coaches Poll to No. 7.

The Virginia Cavaliers moved up three spots to No. 20 in the AP Poll and three spots to No. 19 in the Coaches Poll by virtue of other teams losing and the Cavaliers being off this past weekend.

Memphis, which thumped ULM 52-33, moved into the AP Poll at No. 23 and jumped up three spots to No. 20 in the Coaches Poll.
