College football rankings for week 6 of the 2019 season have been released, and the Alabama Crimson Tide have taken over the top spot in both polls.
Previously the No. 2 team in the nation, Alabama defeated the Ole Miss Rebels at home on Saturday, 59-31, to extend their unbeaten record to 5-0. Clemson, also 5-0, slipped by the North Carolina Tar Heels, 21-20, causing the voters to drop the Tigers one spot to No. 2.
The UCF Knights and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons made the biggest jumps in the polls. UCF, which defeated UConn 56-21, moved up four spots to No. 18 in the AP Poll and four spots to No. 19 in the Coaches Poll.
Wake Forest traveled to Boston College and defeated the Eagles 27-24 to remain unbeaten on the season at 5-0. The Demon Deacons moved into the AP Poll at No. 22 and jumped up four spots to No. 20 in the Coaches Poll.
The Virginia Cavaliers suffered the biggest drop in the Week 6 rankings. Virginia, which fell at Notre Dame 35-20, dropped five spots to No. 23 in the AP Poll and four spots to No. 22 in the Coaches Poll.
The Georgia Bulldogs remained third in the AP Poll, while Ohio State moved up to No. 4 and LSU slid one spot to No. 5 ahead of No. 6 Oklahoma.
Georgia and Oklahoma remained third and fourth in the Coaches Poll, respectively, while Ohio State moved up to No. 5 and LSU dropped one to No. 6.
