By Kevin Kelley -

College football rankings for week 5 of the 2019 season have been released. Clemson remains first, while Wisconsin and Cal made big jumps in the polls.

Fresh off of a 35-14 thrashing of then No. 11 Michigan, the Wisconsin Badgers moved up five spots in the AP Poll to No. 8 and six spots in the Coaches Poll to No. 9.

After defeating the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford 28-20, the California Golden Bears moved up eight spots in the AP Poll to No. 15 and seven spots in the Coaches Poll to No. 16.

The top four remained the same in the AP Poll — Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, and LSU. Ohio State and Oklahoma switched spots, with the Buckeyes moving up to fifth and the Sooners dropping to sixth.

In the Coaches Poll, the top six teams remained the same — Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, and Ohio State.

Notre Dame, which fell at No. 3 Georgia 23-17, dropped three spots to No. 10 in both the AP and Coaches polls.
