College football rankings: Week 12, 2020

By Kevin Kelley -

College football rankings for week 12 of the 2020 season have been released. Alabama remains the top-ranked team, while Northwestern moved up the most in the polls.

Alabama held on to the top spot even though they were off this weekend following the postponement of their game at LSU. Notre Dame defeated Boston College on the road, 45-31, and held in second place.

The 3rd and 4th ranked teams, Ohio State and Clemson, held their spots without playing, also due to postponements. Texas A&M rounds out the top five in the AP Poll, while Florida is fifth in the Coaches Poll.

The Northwestern Wildcats (4-0) moved up the most in both polls this week following their 27-20 win at Purdue. The Wildcats ascended four spots to No. 19 in the AP Poll and three spots to No. 20 in the Coaches Poll.

SMU dropped out of both polls, while Army fell out of the Coaches Poll following losses in Week 11.
