Clemson to host The Citadel in 2020 and 2024, Charleston Southern in 2026

The Clemson Tigers have added The Citadel Bulldogs and the Charleston Southern Buccaneers to their future football schedules, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Copies of contracts for three future games were obtained from Clemson University by FBSchedules.com via a state Freedom of Information Act request.

Clemson will host The Citadel at Memorial Stadium on Nov. 14, 2020 and then again four seasons later on Nov. 23, 2024. The Tigers will pay the Bulldogs a $450,000 guarantee for the 2020 game and a $475,000 guarantee for the 2024 game.

The Citadel, a member of the Southern Conference in the FCS, has faced Clemson 37 times on the gridiron. The Tigers lead the overall series 31-5-1.

Clemson and The Citadel are also set to square off this season in Death Valley on Nov. 18.

Charleston Southern will visit Memorial Stadium on Nov. 7, 2026. The Buccaneers will receive a $450,000 guarantee for the game.

CSU, a member of the Big South Conference in the FCS, has never faced Clemson on the gridiron.

Clemson now has eight future games set against FCS opponents, and each school is in the state of South Carolina: The Citadel (2017, 2020, 2024), Furman (2018, 2022), Wofford (2019, 2023), and Charleston Southern (2026).

Clemson-UConn contract finalized

Back in June, UConn Football Facts reported that UConn would travel to Clemson on Sept. 11, 2021 and the Huskies would receive a $1.2 million guarantee.

Per a copy of the contract obtained from Clemson University, the Tigers will in fact host the Huskies on Sept. 11, 2021 and UConn will receive a $1.2 million guarantee.
