The Chattanooga Mocs have released their 2019 football schedule, which features a game at Tennessee.

“This is a very tough schedule, but we are excited about playing some of the best teams in the country,” stated head coach Rusty Wright. “We have a lot of work to do to get ready, and we will need everyone’s support this season.  There are some great games ahead, so be sure to get a season ticket and be at Finley in the fall.”

Chattanooga opens the 2019 season at home at Finley Stadium against the Eastern Illinois Panthers. The Mocs then travel for back-to-back games at the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Sept. 7 and at the Tennessee Volunteers on Sept. 14.

The final non-conference game of the 2019 season for Chattanooga is a home contest on Sept. 21 against the James Madison Dukes.

Chattanooga opens Southern Conference (SoCon) play on Sept. 28 at home against the Western Carolina Catamounts, which will be Homecoming weekend. The Mocs then play at the Mercer Bears on Oct. 5 before their only off week of the season on Oct. 12.

Chattanooga returns to action with a weeknight contest on Thursday, Oct. 17 at home against the ETSU Buccaneers. UTC then travels to play at the Wofford Terriers on Oct. 26 before returning to Finley Stadium to host the Furman Paladins on Nov. 2.

Two of Chattanooga’s final three games of the regular-season are on the road. The Mocs visit the Samford Bulldogs on Nov. 9, host The Citadel Bulldogs on Nov. 16, and then finish at the VMI Keydets on Nov. 23.

Chattanooga finished the 2018 season 6-5 overall and 4-4 in SoCon play. The Mocs won three consecutive conference titles from 2013 through 2015 and last made it to the FCS Playoffs in 2016.
