The Bryant Bulldogs have announced their 2019 football schedule, which includes six home contests.

Bryant will open the 2019 season with back-to-back games on the road, beginning with a Thursday, Aug. 29 contest against the Stony Brook Seawolves. The Bulldogs then travel to take on the UAlbany Great Danes on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Bryant opens their home slate at Bulldog Stadium in Smithfield, Rhode Island, with three consecutive contests. The Fordham Rams visit on Sept. 14, followed by the Brown Bears on Sept. 21, which is Bryant’s final non-conference game of the season.

The Bulldogs open Northeast Conference (NEC) play when the Saint Francis U. Red Flash visit Smithfield on Sept. 28. The following week, Bryant travels to play the Merrimack Warriors, one of two new NEC members in 2019.

The second new NEC member, Long Island, visits Bulldog Stadium on Oct. 12. Long Island is combining the athletics programs of their Brooklyn and Post campuses and has yet to reveal a new nickname and brand identity.

Bryant closes out their October schedule with consecutive road contests at the Central Connecticut Blue Devils on Oct. 19 and the Robert Morris Colonials on Oct. 26.

The Bulldogs open November on the 2nd with a home contest against the Sacred Heart Pioneers. That’s followed by Bryant’s only open date of the season on Nov. 9.

The Duquesne Dukes visit Bulldog Stadium on Nov. 16, and then Bryant closes out their 2019 schedule at the Wagner Seahawks on Nov. 23.

Bryant wrapped up the 2018 season with a 6-5 record overall and a 2-4 record in NEC play. Head coach James Perry resigned after the season to take over the helm at Brown, his alma mater.

The Bulldogs are now led by Chris Merritt, who was previously the head coach at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida for the past 18 seasons.
