The Bowling Green Falcons have added the Eastern Illinois Panthers to their 2023 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game contract with Eastern Illinois University was obtained from Bowling Green State University via a state public records request.
Bowling Green will host Eastern Illinois at Doyt Perry Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio, on September 9, 2023. The Falcons will pay the Panthers a $350,000 guarantee for the contest, per the copy of the agreement.
Bowling Green and Eastern Illinois have never met in football. The Panthers, members of the Ohio Valley Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), finished the 2019 season 1-11 overall and 1-7 in conference play.
The addition of Eastern Illinois completes Bowling Green’s non-conference football schedule for the 2023 season. The remainder of the Falcons’ non-conference contests are all on the road. Bowling Green will travel to Liberty on Sept. 2, Michigan on Sept. 16, and Georgia Tech on Sept. 30.
Eastern Illinois has also completed their 2023 non-conference slate. In addition to playing at Bowling Green, the Panthers are scheduled to travel to Indiana State on Sept. 2 and host Illinois State on Sept. 16.
Bowling Green is set to open the 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Eastern Illinois opens their season on the same day at home in Charleston, Ill., against the Indiana State Sycamores.
