Boise State and Utah State have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2014 and 2015, the schools announced today.
Boise State will travel to face Utah State at Romney Stadium in Logan on Sept. 27, 2014. The Broncos will then host the Aggies at Bronco Stadium in Boise on Sept, 26, 2015.
The Broncos, who will be a member of the Big East next season, lead the overall series against their former WAC counterparts 13-4. Boise State won the last meeting 50-14 in Boise in 2010.
Boise State now has three non-conference games scheduled for both 2014 and 2015. In 2014, the Broncos face Ole Miss in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game (8/28) and later host BYU (10/25). In 2015, the Broncos travel to BYU (09/12) and host Washington (9/19).
Utah State’s 2014 slate also includes trips to Wyoming (9/13) and BYU (10/25). Their previously scheduled game against Utah on 8/28 has been canceled. According to the Utah State release, the “…Utes are opting out of one of the four games from the signed contract for the $500,000 buyout.”
In 2015, the Aggies travel to Utah (9/3) and BYU (10/2) and host Wyoming (9/19).
Good for Utah State for scheduling good teams. As long as Gary Anderson is coaching there, they will continue to get better and be able to win some big games
Here’s the SL Tribune’s article on Utah buying out the 2014 game in Logan.
If Boise state keeps having seasons like they have, they will be in the pac twelve soon.
Unfortuantely, never going to happen. I’d love to see it, but the Pac-12 won’t touch that with a 9 and a half foot pole.
There aren’t many schools in the Pacific and Mountain time zones that the Pac-12 would be interested in for expansion. That’s why they would be willing to stretch the conference’s boundary to Oklahoma/Texas if expansion occurred.
Pac-12 won’t invite community college size campus. Have you seen the size of UCLA?
Boise State sure schedules up! who’s next weber state? lol
Georgia, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss
Looks like Boise will play anyone….
same lame argument you have about the SEC Pa – You do not have FACTS
yeah they play one or two good games each year, and 10 juco games. thats why they go to the vegas bowl in a 11-1 season back to back years!
Just saw your post. Any comments now that UT Martin 0-3 all time vs. BCS competition has been added, or Troy 3-32 since 2000 vs. BCS or even better LA/Lafayette posting 1-27 win/loss record, not to mention Virginia and Uconn (not powderpuffs but no gauntlet to run with 8 MWC (WAC style) conference games. Sorry to see the scheduled dumbdown with hail Mary games in 8-10 years with Florida State and Michigan State the only real heavy weights signed up. The plan is have 8-10 cupcakes, and a couple middling BCS teams to get that 10-11 win season. You’ll never leave the MWC or get rid of the suspicion of the rest of the country with this soft schedule approach.
