The Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen will face off on Saturday in the 112th edition of the Army-Navy game. The game will by played at FedEx Field in Landover, MD (2:30 p.m. ET – CBS).
Navy leads the overall series 55-49-7. The Midshipmen have dominated the series lately, winning nine in a row and 12 of the last 14 games.
Army is 3-8 on the season with wins over Fordham, Northwestern and Tulane. The Black Knights did not qualify for a bowl game.
Navy also won’t be going to a bowl after a lackluster 4-7 season. The Midshipmen’s four wins came against Delaware, SMU, Troy and Western Kentucky.
But the game hasn’t lost any significance, as both schools know the importance of a win in this series. And it will have a bowl game atmosphere with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in attendance.
The Army-Navy game is the final FBS regular-season game in 2011. The bowl season kicks off on Saturday, December 17 (Bowl Schedule).
