The Austin Peay Governors will host the Morehead State Eagles in 2021 and the Presbyterian Blue Hose in 2022, the school has announced.

Austin Peay will host Morehead State at Fortera Stadium in Clarksville, Tenn., on Sept. 18, 2021, which will be the home-opener for the Govs. The game will mark the 47th overall meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

Austin Peay, a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, and Morehead State, a member of the Pioneer Football League, first met on the gridiron in 1962. The Governors have won three consecutive games in the series, but the Eagles still hold a 27-19 advantage.

The Presbyterian Blue Hose are set to take on Austin Peay at Fortera Stadium on Sept. 3, 2022. The game will also be the home-opener for Austin Peay.

In two previous meetings on the gridiron, Austin Peay and Presbyterian are tied with one win each. The Blue Hose defeated the Governors 13-7 in 1955, but then the Govs returned the favor 63 seasons later in 2018, winning 24-0. Both games were played in Clarksville.

“We are happy to solidify our home openers for each of the next two seasons,” said APSU Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison. “We look forward to once again hosting our passionate fans at Fortera Stadium as together we cheer our Governors to another OVC Championship season.”
