The Arizona State Sun Devils have added the Southern Miss Golden Eagles to their 2028 football schedule, according to an announcement from both schools.
Arizona State will host Southern Miss at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., on August 26, 2028. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Arizona State is 2-0 against members of the Sun Belt Conference, while Southern Miss holds a 28-23 mark against current members of the Big 12.
The addition of Southern Miss tentatively completes Arizona State’s non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. The Sun Devils are also scheduled to host Northern Arizona in Tempe on Sept. 2 before traveling to face San Diego State on Sept. 9.
The Big 12 has not yet announced the conference opponents for the 2028 season, but the Sun Devils are expected to have four home games and five road contests.
Arizona State is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Southern Miss for the 2028 season. The Golden Eagles are also slated to host Middle Tennessee in Hattiesburg on Sept. 16 and travel to face South Florida on Sept 23.
Per Southern Miss’ release, the game at Arizona State in 2028 will mark its first west of the state of Texas since playing at Boise State in 2013.
