The Alabama A&M Bulldogs have released their 2020 football schedule, which includes games at UAB and Mississippi State.
“I’m really excited about the upcoming schedule,” Alabama A&M Director of Athletics Bryan Hicks said. “This schedule provides us the opportunity to continue to develop and grow our football program while enabling us to be competitive with other Division-I programs.”
Alabama A&M is scheduled to open the 2020 season at home at Louis Crews Stadium in Huntsville, Ala., against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in the Louis Crews Classic. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The following week on Sept. 12, Alabama A&M travels for their first road contest of the season at the UAB Blazers.
“We’re excited about the schedule and really looking forward to what’s ahead for our program in the 2020 season,” Alabama A&M football coach Connell Maynor said. “We get to open the season at home against a quality FCS opponent in Stephen F. Austin, and follow that up on the road against a really good FBS program in UAB.
Alabama returns to Huntsville on Sept. 19 to host the Southern Jaguars, their first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest of the season. The Bulldogs then travel to face the Texas Southern Tiger on Sept. 26 before hosting the Alcorn State Braves on Oct. 3 for Homecoming.
Consecutive road contests are next as Alabama A&M heads to face Mississippi Valley State on Oct. 10 and Prairie View A&M on Oct. 17.
Following an open date on Oct. 24, their first and only one of the season, Alabama A&M takes on Alabama State in the Magic City Classic at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala., on Halloween (Oct. 31).
Alabama A&M closes out their 2020 slate with two-of-three games on the road. The Bulldogs play at Jackson State on Nov. 7, host Grambling State on Nov. 14, and travel to take on Mississippi State on Nov. 21.
