The Akron Zips have added the Sacred Heart Pioneers and Bucknell Bison to their future football schedules, FBSchedules.com has learned. Copies of game contracts for both matchups were obtained from the University of Akron via a state open‑records request.

Akron will host Sacred Heart at InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field on August 31, 2030. According to the contract, the Zips will pay the Pioneers a $300,000 guarantee for the contest.

Sacred Heart competes in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level. The Pioneers have never faced Akron on the gridiron.

With the addition of Sacred Heart, Akron now has all four non‑conference opponents set for its 2030 slate. After the opener, the Zips will visit Cincinnati on Sept. 7, West Virginia on Sept. 14, and James Madison on Sept. 21.

Bucknell will travel to Akron on September 20, 2031, for a matchup at InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field. Per the terms of the agreement, the Bison will receive a $300,000 guarantee.

Bucknell competes in the Patriot League in the FCS, and the game will mark the first meeting between the two programs.

The Bison become the second non‑conference opponent on Akron’s 2031 schedule, joining a previously announced road trip to Rutgers on Sept. 13.
