The much anticipated 2012 SEC Football Schedule will not be released before Christmas, the SEC announced this morning on Twitter.
The SEC tweeted the following on their official Twitter account @SECSportsUpdate:
Working through final stages of 2012 SEC football schedule. We’ll release once it’s complete, but not before Christmas.
Last week, Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity and Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long both stated that the 2012 schedules would be released sometime before Christmas.
There are rumblings that final details of the 2012 SEC schedule are being held up by discussions between Arkansas, LSU and Texas A&M. When LSU plays at Arkansas, the game is played at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. There are rumors that the game could be moved to Fayetteville.
The other issue is believed to involve Arkansas and Texas A&M. Back in 2008, the two schools signed a 10-year agreement to play their games at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Now that A&M is in the SEC, the Aggies want to move the game back to the campuses whereas Arkansas would like to keep the game in Arlington.

Gig’em! Can’t wait to finally see them!
So after Christmas? Will they be before New Years? By the way, Auburn has a home game against Vanderbilt on September 22 and an away game at Florida on the 29 of September. Merry Christmas,
