The Towson Tigers have added the North Carolina Central Eagles to their 2019 football schedule, the school announced on Tuesday.
Towson’s 2019 football schedule was released by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) back on October 31, but it had only 11 games. FCS teams are allowed to play 12 games in 2019 due to the calendar, and North Carolina Central is the 12th opponent for Towson.
North Carolina Central will travel to take on Towson on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Maryland. The game will be the third overall meeting between the two schools.
In their first meeting on the gridiron back in 2013, Towson defeated North Carolina Central 35-17 in Durham. The Tigers won the second meeting 31-20 in Towson in 2014.
North Carolina Central is the fourth non-conference opponent for Towson for 2019. The Tigers are also slated to play at The Citadel (Aug. 31) and Florida (Sept. 28) and host Bucknell (Oct. 19).
In CAA action, Towson is scheduled to host Villanova, UAlbany, Delaware, and Elon and travel to face Maine, James Madison, Stony Brook, and William & Mary.
Towson is the second announced non-conference opponent for North Carolina Central in 2019. The Eagles are also scheduled to play at Austin Peay to open the season on Aug. 31.
