The NFL Playoff Schedule 2024 kicks off with Super Wild Card Weekend, which features two games on Saturday, three on Sunday, and one on Monday.
The action kicks off on Saturday, January 13, 2024, with an AFC Wild Card matchup. The Cleveland Browns travel to face the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, and the game will be televised by NBC and streamed via Peacock at 4:30pm ET.
Saturday’s action concludes with the Miami Dolphins visiting the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. That game is slated for 8:00pm ET and will be a streaming-only event on Peacock.
Sunday’s Wild Card action was supposed to begin with the Buffalo Bills hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y. Due to a winter storm, that contest has been postponed to Monday, Jan. 15 and will kickoff at 4:30pm ET on CBS and Paramount+.
Sunday NFL playoff action will now begin with the Green Bay Packers traveling to face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game is scheduled for a 4:30pm ET kickoff with the telecast on FOX.
Sunday’s Wild Card action concludes with the Detroit Lions hosting the Los Angeles Rams at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. The game will be televised by NBC and streamed by Peacock at 8:00pm ET.
On Monday, the previously mentioned Steelers-Bills contest is first at 4:30pm ET (CBS/Paramount+).
The Monday Night Football Wild Card matchup features the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The game will be broadcast by ESPN and simulcast on ABC and ESPN+ at 8:00pm ET. The contest will also feature a Manningcast on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
The Baltimore Ravens received the first-round bye in the AFC, while the San Francisco 49ers earned the bye in the NFC. Both teams will host Divisional Round contests next week. The four Divisional Round games will be played on Saturday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024.
The AFC and NFC Championship games are slated for Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, with kickoff times set for 3:00pm ET on CBS and 6:30pm ET on FOX, respectively.
Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game will be televised by CBS at 6:30pm ET.

Making the playoffs is reward enough for winning your division. The NBA says so. That’s because the NBA correctly realized that seeding priority for division winners comes with a lot of problems – twice now in fact.

Division 114% is important & this Philadelphia Eagles Fan is accepting going to Sunshine State of Florida to play Buccaneers in Tampa Bay & accepting Cleveland Browns playing in Spacetown at Texans in Houston.
Z-man – Each conference member plays 10 conference opponents 4 time (40 games), the remaining 4 conference opponents 3 times (12 games) and every member of the opposite conference twice (30 games). That is essentially a balance conference schedule and hence divisional association is meaningless. That is why the NBA seeded their playoffs with disregard for cosmetic divisions.
In NFL, each division member plays all divisional members home-and-home (6 games); all the teams in an assigned division within it conference (4 games) and all division members from an assigned division in the opposite conference (4 games). (That are 14, of 17 games all against the exact same completion.) The remaining 3 games are drawn from the two division within their conference they did not play, drawn by matching the finishing divisional position from the previous year and a game chosen in similar fashion from a division from the opposite conference determined on a seasonally rotating basis. Hence the NFL values divisional play and why it is upheld within their playoff format.

Spencer, two interesting scenarios can come from my seeding proposal:
1. A division winner being so bad it gets saddled with the 7 seed in its conference and yet goes on to win the Super Bowl without ever having a chance at a home playoff game.
2. The top two seeds in the conference come from the same division, potentially setting up the biggest game in the history of the rivalry in the conference championship game.
Plus seeding priority for division winners hurt one of my teams, the Packers, in 2011. That year, the Giants had the worst record of all NFC playoff teams at 9-7, yet got to host a wild card game because they won the NFC East. They advanced then defeated the Packers, who failed to become the first 15-1 team to win the Super Bowl since their hated rivals the Bears did it 26 years before, and in fact was the first 15-1 team eliminated in the divisional round. Had seeding priority been removed from division winners, the Giants would have been saddled with the 6 seed and been forced to open the playoffs against the Saints in the Superdome, where they were on the wrong end of a 49-24 beatdown by the Saints earlier on MNF, and where they had not won since another MNF game in 1993 at the time. I’m confident the Saints would have defeated the Giants again, while the Packers would have gotten the winner of Lions at Falcons, a win-win since both are dome teams that normally play poorly in cold weather, in contrast the Giants are also a cold-weather team.
Also Spencer, I’ve proposed a new schedule format for the NBA after expansion to Seattle and Vegas (the latter gets placed in the Pacific, all other MT/PT teams form the Mountain, OKC to the SW, Minnesota to the Central), wherein 80 of each team’s 82 games would follow a set formula:
2 games against all non-division opponents
6 or 7 games against each division opponent (5-team divisions)
5 or 6 games against each division opponent (6-team divisions)
Some of these games would be part of the in-season tournament group round, which would now have four groups of four teams in each conference. The remaining games on each team’s schedule would be determined based on how the in-season tournament plays out.

Main reason i do not like the Packers as A Bears Fan I am in no mood to jump on the bandwagon plus Packer Fans are against people jumping on & off they like Fans that are loyal & true. 114% Like Chicago Bears,Philadelphia Eagles & Buffalo Bills in NFL & Northwestern Wildcats,Illinois Fighting Illini & Michigan Wolverines in Big Ten only thing I care about Bears,Eagles,Bills,Wildcats,Fighting Illini & Wolverines that they win games rather than what Weather is doing outside. Two other NFL Teams I like are Indianapolis Colts who plays indoors & San Francisco 49ers who play in warm climate on West Coast.
