The North Carolina A&T Aggies and the North Carolina Central Eagles will play in the Duke’s Mayo Classic in 2022 and 2027, it was announced on Tuesday.
North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central will meet to open the 2022 and 2027 seasons at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Exact dates for the games will be announced at a later date.
Back in December, the Aggies and Eagles announced a ten-game football series that is set to begin on Sept. 25, 2021 at North Carolina A&T. Games in 2022 (Sept. 3) and 2027 (Sept. 4) were both already scheduled to be season openers.
North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central first met on the gridiron in 1924 and have played a total of 91 contests. The Aggies have won 21 of the last 29 meetings and now lead the overall series 52-34-5.

“We are looking forward to taking one of college football’s great rivalries and moving it to the Queen City of Charlotte,” said NC A&T Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Earl Hilton III. “We want to thank the Charlotte Sports Foundation, North Carolina Central University and Duke Mayonnaise for putting together the game. The city of Charlotte has thousands of residents who are either Aggies or Eagles, so the excitement surrounding the game will be intense.”
