The Miami Hurricanes at Wake Forest Demon Deacons football game has been postponed due to COVID-19, the ACC announced on Saturday.
The two schools were scheduled to meet at Truist Field in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday, Dec. 5. The game was postponed following “…positive tests, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing within the Wake Forest football team.”
It is currently unknow if the ACC will be able to reschedule the game. Miami and Wake Forest are both scheduled to play on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 19.
Miami’s next opponent is the 19th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels. The Hurricanes will host the Tar Heels at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 12.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has, and continues, to test our resolve as a University community,” Wake Forest Athletics Director John Currie said. “This has been a difficult few weeks for our football program, but pausing activities and our matchup with No. 10 Miami is the right decision to ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes.”
Wake Forest has not played since a 59-53 loss at North Carolina on Nov. 14. The Demon Deacons game at Duke on Nov. 21 was canceled and they are off today. Their next scheduled game is at home on Saturday, Dec. 12 against Notre Dame.
“As we have throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to work with University leadership and our medical personnel to create the safest environment possible for our student-athletes and staff,” Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson said. “Although we are disappointed that we will be unable to play a game next weekend, this is the right thing to do at this moment.”
Football Schedules
It’s time for just one thread with the list of cancelations. It’s impossible to find any other articles on here anymore with these clogging everything up.
Gosh! Clogging everything up? I find this the most important information on this website. This is definitely the go to site for information on this critically important topic. The information on this site is timelier and more informative than that found on any of the major websites, CBS, ESPN, etc.
The importance of this information cannot be overstated. Not only do these cancellations effect the TV schedule, they effect the conference championships, the teams making the CFP, and the teams that will play in bowl games. The information also provide hints as to which games may be cancelled or rescheduled in the weeks ahead.
Impossible? No. You may have to scroll a little more and press the load more posts button if you’re on mobile.
You can also see stories just involving your conference of choice if you go to the conference page, like so:

I hear BYU is looking for a Top 10 opponent. Have football team; will travel.
Perfect spot to bring in BYU for a Top 10 match that will attract lots of eyes. It’s a good time for the ACC to show some flexibility remembering that BYU counts as a P5 opponent.
