2020 Indiana-UConn football game rescheduled for 2026

By Kevin Kelley -

The Indiana Hoosiers and the UConn Huskies have agreed to reschedule their postponed football game in 2020 to the 2026 season, both schools announced on Tuesday.

Indiana was previously scheduled to travel to take on UConn on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, but the game was canceled due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Hoosiers will now travel to play the Huskies at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn., on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026. The game is the second of a home-and-home series that kicked off on Sept. 21, 2019 in Bloomington, Ind.

Indiana and UConn first met on the gridiron in 2003 and have played three times overall. In their most recent contest in 2019, the Hoosiers defeated the Huskies 38-3, but UConn still leads the series 2-1.

UConn is now the first scheduled non-conference opponent for Indiana’s 2026 football schedule.

The Huskies, a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) Independent, now have seven opponents scheduled for the 2026 season. Other scheduled contests include Lafayette and Maryland at home and North Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, and Florida Atlantic on the road.

if Uconn gets a good coach I can see them challenging for a New Year 6 bowl game every year (wishful thinking)
