The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the Fordham Rams have agreed to reschedule their postponed football game in 2020 to the 2028 season, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Hawaii was scheduled to host Fordham at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, but the game was postponed due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Fordham will now travel to take on Hawaii at Aloha Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2028, according to a copy of an amendment to the original contract obtained from the University of Hawaii at Manoa via a state public records request. The guarantee payment from Hawaii to Fordham remains $200,000.
The 2028 contest between Hawaii and Fordham will mark their first-ever meeting on the gridiron.
Fordham is the first non-conference opponent scheduled for Hawaii for the 2028 season. The contest is also the first for Fordham’s 2028 slate.
Hawaii has recorded a 3-3 overall record to date on their Mountain West-only football schedule this season. The Rainbow Warriors are slated to host San Jose State this weekend in a contest that was relocated from San Jose.
Fordham is a member of the Patriot League in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Their fall season was postponed and plans for spring have yet to be announced.
