2020 Boise State at Marshall football game rescheduled for 2027

The Boise State Broncos at Marshall Thundering Herd have agreed to reschedule their postponed football game in 2020 to the 2027 season, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Marshall was scheduled to host Boise State at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, W.Va., on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, but the game was postponed due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Boise State will now travel to take on Marshall in Huntington on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2027, according to a copy of an amendment to the original contract obtained from Boise State University via a state public records request.

The postponed contest is the second game of a home-and-home series that began on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho. The Broncos defeated the Thundering Herd in that contest, 14-7.

Prior to last seasons contest, Boise State and Marshall had only met once on the gridiron. The Broncos also defeated the Thundering Herd in that game, 28-24, in 1994 in Boise.

With the move, Boise State has tentatively completed their non-conference schedule for the 2027 season. Other games scheduled that season include the USF Bulls (Sept. 11) and the BYU Cougars (Sept. 25) at home and the Rice Owls (Sept. 4) on the road.

Marshall now has three non-conference opponents set for their 2027 schedule. The Thundering Herd are also scheduled to play at the Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 11 and host the Bowling Green Falcons on Sept. 25 that season.
