2018 Mountain West Championship Game: Fresno State at Boise State

By Kevin Kelley -

The 2018 Mountain West Championship Game is set with the Boise State Broncos hosting the Fresno State Bulldogs. The game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Albertson’s Stadium in Boise, Idaho.

Fresno State-Boise State is a rematch of the 2017 Mountain West Championship Game, which the Broncos also hosted and won 17-14.

The two schools also met earlier this month in Boise. The Boise State Broncos won that contest 24-17.

The Fresno State Bulldogs clinched the West Division title with a 7-1 record, two games ahead of Hawaii in the standings. Fresno State is making their fourth appearance in the MWC title game, the most in the conference, and is 1-2 overall.

Boise State and Utah State met to close out the regular-season with 6-1 and 7-0 records, respectively. The Broncos defeated the Aggies 33-24 and won the Mountain Division by virtue of the win over Utah State. The Broncos have played in two Mountain West Championship games previously, beating Fresno State in both, 28-14 in 2014 and 17-14 last season.

Brett McMurphy of Stadium projects Boise State to play Stanford in the Las Vegas Bowl and Fresno State to take on North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl.
