By Kevin Kelley -

The 2015 NFL Thursday Night Football Schedule kicks off in Week 2 (Sept. 17) when the Denver Broncos travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs. The game will be televised by CBS and the NFL Network at 8:25pm ET.

The defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots will be featured on Thursday, Oct. 29 when they host the Miami Dolphins.

Overall, Thursday Night Football in 2015 will feature 16 regular-season NFL games, and two of those will be played on a Saturday (Dec. 19 and Dec. 26).

Note: New England opens the 2015 NFL season at home vs. Pittsburgh on Thursday, Sept. 10 (8:30pm ET, NBC). Although the game is on Thursday, it is branded as part of the “Sunday Night Football” package.

A second game, Chicago at Green Bay on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26, is also branded as “Sunday Night Football.”

You can always bet the farm on a Tennessee vs Jacksonville Thursday night game at some point during the season…

every team has to have a thursday game so might as well ruin only 1 game then split them and ruin 2.

always on thursday like they said – alot easier to fit every team in + natural rivalrys.

Thursday Night Football… on Saturday.

Sunday Night Football… on Thursday.

Gotta love that Roger Goodell thinkin’!

Goodell is the owners employee, as long as they make more money every year they don’t care what stupid things he has done with schedules, player fines/suspensions, etc.. It’s all about money, that’s why they went 2 bye’s, it’s not about resting players, it’s about 2 more weeks of fball games to sell. The NFL has become as bad as college fball with games on thursday, sat, sunday, monday.. Friday nights won’t be far off especially if the talks about 18 game season start again.

they cant play friday from early sep thru early dec to not conflict with hs football – its also part of the anti trust deal with congress – dont wanna mess with that.

Nothing new. In the late ’70s and early ’80s ABC would show occasional Saturday and Thursday NFL games, and branded it as a “[x] Night Presentation of Monday Night Football.”

@dcomboy77

You really think if the NFL really wanted to they couldn’t get the the law changed. If they saw that it made them enough money it will be changed. The law now only restricts during the regular season of HS fball.

Who would want to watch or go to a football game on a Thursday night unless you don’t have work or school the next day?

The Nfl needs to go back to the good old days. Have everyone play on Sunday afternoon (No Sunday Night game), then have 1 Monday night game. Keep the Thanksgiving tradition of the Lions, and the Cowboys playing with no Thursday night game, and have 2 Saturday games the last 2 weeks of the season. The first one at 12:30, and the later game at 4:00. I know that won’t ever happen again. People will cry ratings, But it has to do more with greed.

They should put the Tennessee at Jacksonville Game on NBC or CBS so everyone can watch two of the WORST teams in the NFL
