The South Carolina State Bulldogs have added the Lane College Dragons to their 2019 football schedule, according to their official website.
South Carolina State will host Lane College at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg on Sept. 7, 2019. The game is scheduled for a 4:00pm ET start.
Lane College is a private, historically black college located in Jackson, Tennessee. The Dragons compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) in Division II.
The South Carolina State Bulldogs were previously scheduled to play at Presbyterian on Sept. 7, but the game was removed from their schedule, likely due to scheduling conflicts from some other game changes.
Presbyterian was also scheduled to host Miles College on Sept. 21. That game was also removed from their schedule and a replacement opponent will be announced soon.
South Carolina State is scheduled to open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at home against the Wofford Terriers. Other home opponents for South Carolina State, all Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contests, include Florida A&M (Oct. 12), Morgan State (Oct. 19), North Carolina A&T (Nov. 2), and Howard (Nov. 9).
The Bulldogs are scheduled to play at the USF Bulls in a non-conference contest on Sept. 14. MEAC road games for South Carolina State in 2019 include Delaware State (Oct. 5), Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 26), North Carolina Central (Nov. 16), and Norfolk State (Nov. 23).
