Through week 10 of the 2009 college football season, the Washington Huskies have the toughest strength of schedule in Jeff Sagarin’s ratings. Last weeks strength of schedule rating is listed in parentheses:

– Mississippi State played Kentucky and Tennessee played Memphis, dropping them both from the Top 20.
– Virginia and Wake Forest entered the Top 20 after playing Miami, FL and Georgia Tech, respectively.
– LSU entered the Top 20 after playing Alabama.
– Florida State rose 5 spots after losing to Clemson.
– Arizona fell 7 spots after playing Washington State.
– Georgia fell 7 spots after playing FCS team Tennessee Tech.
It’s amazing that the ACC – which illicits knee-jerk reactions of having a mediocre football pedigree – has 6 of the top 20 toughest schedules.
Go Hokies!
PAC-10 9 of the top 20 toughest schedules. Thats good to me.
Go Hoos– #13!!!!!! May Al Groh be retained next year to rebuild UVA’s program to greatness!!!!!!!
That doesn’t seem correct. LSU beat #3 Oregon away from home and Oregon went on to now be ranked in the top 10. LSU beat Alabama, ranked #2, and Alabama is ranked in the top 5. LSU beat West Virginia and 3 other ranked teams so far this season, away from home. and they rank 17. Something is not quite right here.
