The Mississippi State Bulldogs have added the Southeastern Louisiana Lions to their 2023 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Mississippi State will host Southeastern Louisiana at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on Sept. 2, 2023. Southeastern will receive a $550,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from Southeastern Louisiana University via a state public records request.
Mississippi State and Southeastern Louisiana’s first and only meeting on the gridiron was in 2008 in Starkville. The Bulldogs won that contest 34-10.
Southeastern Louisiana is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Lions finished the 2017 season 6-5 overall and 6-3 in Southland Conference play.

In SEC action in 2023, Mississippi State is scheduled to host Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and Kentucky and play at Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M, and South Carolina.
