The Iowa State Cyclones and the Northern Iowa Panthers have signed a long term football scheduling agreement, both schools announced this afternoon.
Iowa State will host UNI at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023. The two schools previously had an agreement, but revised it to add the 2019, 2021, and 2023 dates.
The Cyclones hold a 20-4-3 record against the Panthers, including a 20-19 win last season in Ames.
Although no dates were mentioned in today’s announcement, prior news releases indicate that Iowa State will open the season vs. Northern Iowa in 2013 (Aug. 31), 2015 (Sept. 5), 2016 (Sept. 3), and 2017 (Sept. 2). More than likely, the three new games will also be season-openers for both schools.
Iowa State’s future schedules, which are now complete through 2020, include games against Akron, Iowa, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, San Jose State, Toledo, Tulsa, and UNLV.
