Have BYU and Wisconsin scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2014 and 2015? That’s what Wisconsin commitment Vince Biegel has claimed in a story on TotalBlueSports.com ($).
Biegel, a 6-3, 210-pound linebacker from Wisconsin Rapids, committed to the Badgers in April but says he is still considering BYU. In the article, Biegel stated “Either way, we’ll play one another because BYU and Wisconsin signed a contract with one another to play 2014 through 2015.”
Wisconsin was one of the BCS teams rumored to be setting up a series with the Cougars. Those rumors indicated that the Badgers and Cougars would have a two-for-one series, so maybe Biegel missed one of the years.
Either way, it appears that a BYU coach may have offered up some tentative scheduling information in an attempt gain Biegel’s verbal commitment. If he were to sign with the Cougars, the game would give him a chance to play in his home state.
In their first and only meeting, BYU defeated Wisconsin 28-3 in Madison on September 20, 1980.
Football Schedules:
I hope that come the media day or whatever it’s called in July some of this will be announced. I’m sure some of them have to be finalized, just want a good time to announce them.
BYU typically announces matches when they are 100% confirmed at their sports website, byucougars.com. However they won’t announce anything until Tom Holmoe okays it.
Frankly a home-and-home makes sense more than a 2-for-1 with Wisconsin being in the Big 10 (with 11 other teams). I personally think some of the rumored BYU 2-for-1’s are just that, solely rumors. However BYu has admitted they will be scheduling the Power conferences and are trying to get at least one team from each Power Conference (Big 12, Pac-12, Big Ten, SEC, Big East) every year.

on july 12th (espn will be there too)
