The Georgia Bulldogs of the SEC and the Ohio State Buckeyes of the Big Ten have agreed to a 2020-21 home-and-home football series, the Athens Banner-Herald reported today.
UGA Athletic Director Greg McGarity told the ABH that the schools have a “memorandum of understanding” to play the games and that dates have yet to be determined. The games will be played on campus in Athens, Georgia at Sanford Stadium in Columbus, Ohio at Ohio Stadium.
Georgia leads the all-time series against Ohio State 1-0. The Bulldogs beat the Buckeyes 21-14 in the 1993 Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
The ABH reported in November that Georgia was looking to schedule Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State or Notre Dame. McGarity told the paper today that Michigan and Notre Dame were not interested in playing the Bulldogs.
Football Schedules:
of course Michigan doesn’t want to play UGa….there is a reason why the Wolverines have YELLOW on thier uniforms….
But great to see UGa wake up and sign this deal….this will be one great 2 game set.
