The Colorado State Rams have added the Northern Colorado Bears to their 2025 football schedule, the school announced on Thursday.
Colorado State will host Northern Colorado at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025. The two schools were previously scheduled to meet in Fort Collins on Sept. 19, 2020, but the game was canceled due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Northern Colorado is also scheduled to travel to play Colorado State at Canvas Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, which we previously reported. The Bears will receive a $400,000 guarantee for that contest, according to the copy of the contract.
Colorado State and Northern Colorado first met on the gridiron in 1893 and the two in-state foes have met a total of 22 times. In their most recent matchup in 2016, Colorado State defeated Northern Colorado 47-21 to extend their overall lead in the series to 20-0-1.
Northern Colorado is a member of the Big Sky Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Bears opted out of playing the spring 2021 football season due to the pandemic.
Northern Colorado is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Colorado State for the 2025 season. The Rams are also slated to host Texas Tech on Sept. 6 and travel to play Vanderbilt on Sept. 27.
