Cal Poly announced this week the completion of its 2020 football schedule, including contests with FBS opponents Cal and ULM.
“Another very difficult schedule, starting off with two FBS schools in Louisiana-Monroe and a now nationally-ranked Cal program, will make it an interesting beginning to 2020,” said Mustangs head coach Tim Walsh in the release. “Then follow it with Big Sky powers Montana, Montana State and Weber State and we will definitely have our work cut out for us.”
Cal Poly has defeated five FBS schools in its history, with the most recent a 24-22 decision at Wyoming on Sept. 15, 2012.
The contests at ULM (Sept. 5) and Cal (Sept. 12) start the season for Cal Poly, with the home opener at Alex G. Spanos Stadium a visit from San Diego on Sept. 19.
The remainder of the 2020 slate features home games with Big Sky foes Weber State (Oct. 3), UC Davis (Oct. 24), Idaho State (Nov. 14), and Northern Arizona (Nov. 21). The Mustangs will hit the road for contests at Montana (Sept. 26), Montana State (Oct. 10), Portland State (Oct. 31), and Sacramento State (Nov. 7).
Cal Poly (1-2, 0-1 Big Sky) is off this week, and will return to action Sept. 28 at Southern Utah.
Didn’t previously hear about the ULM vs Cal Poly game.
Uconn still needs to add eight games to their 2020 schedule (ith at least two more home games).
Following programs still needing games in 2020.
TCU / VT
SMU / UCF / Air Force
Louis Tech / USM / ODU / UAB
Following can add an extra game (Hawaii exception):
UCLA / Boise St / UNLV / Nevada / NM St
I suspect TCU and SMU will schedule games against each other.
So Uconn could add:
VT / UCF / AF / LT / USM / ODU / UAB
+ a second FCS program -or- a FBS program with a Hawaii exception game available?
