Duquesne announces 2019 football schedule

The Duquesne Dukes have announced their 2019 football schedule, which includes five home games and 11 contests overall.

Duquesne will open the 2019 season at home at Arthur J. Rooney Athletic Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, against the Walsh Cavaliers on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The Dukes then head out for three consecutive road contests, beginning at the Youngstown State Penguins on Sept. 14. Duquesne then visits the Dayton Flyers on Sept. 21 and the New Hampshire Wildcats on Sept. 28.

Duquesne returns home to open Northeast Conference (NEC) play against new member Long Island on Oct. 5. After an open date, the Dukes travel to face the Sacred Heart Pioneers on Oct. 19.

Back-to-back home games are up next as the Wagner Seahawks visit Rooney Field on Oct. 26, followed by the Saint Francis Red Flash on Nov. 2.

Next, Duquesne travels for consecutive games at the Robert Morris Colonials on Nov. 9 and at the Bryant Bulldogs on Nov. 16. The Dukes close out the regular-season at home in Pittsburgh against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils on Nov. 23.

Duquesne finished the 2018 season 9-4 overall and 5-1 in NEC play and claimed their fifth Northeast Conference title. The Dukes advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs, but fell at South Dakota State 51-6.
