The Prairie View A&M Panthers have scheduled a home-and-home football series with the Houston Baptist Huskies for 2021 and 2023, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the two-game contract was obtained from Prairie View A&M University via a state public records request.
In the first game of the series, Prairie View A&M will host Houston Baptist at Panther Stadium in Prairie View, Texas, on Sept. 18, 2021. The series will conclude with the Panthers traveling to play the Huskies at Husky Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sept. 16, 2023.
The 2021 contest between Prairie View A&M and Houston Baptist will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools in football.
Prairie View A&M competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Houston Baptist, which started their football program in 2014, is a member of the Southland Conference.
Houston Baptist is the second scheduled non-conference opponent for Prairie View A&M for both the 2021 season and the 2023 season. The Panthers are scheduled to play at Incarnate Word on Sept. 11, 2021 and host Abilene Christian on Sept. 9, 2023.
The Huskies now have three scheduled non-conference opponents in 2021. Other games that season include a contest at New Mexico (Sept. 4) and Northern Colorado (Sept. 11) at home.
Houston Baptist’s only other scheduled game in 2023 is a road contest at Western Kentucky (Sept. 9).
